Grace Emma (Dwyer) Richardson

Surrounded by loved ones, grace passed away peacefully in her sleep at Ross Memorial Hospital in her 86th year after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer ’s disease.

She was an extraordinary wife and mother to Charles Douglas Richardson and five daughters: Teresa D’Ambroso (Jim), Judy Stewart, Viki Diamant (Leon), Lynne Hooey (Trevor) and Colleen MacDonald (Don). Predeceased by her step-daughter Janet Boulet (Robert).  

Grace will be missed by her sister Shirley and many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her brothers Ted, Jack and Bill and her sisters Irene and Dolly. 

Grace was also a treasured Grandma/Nana to Cindy, Tucker, Nicole, Matthew, Alisha, Joshua and Lauren.  Great Grandma to Jocelyn and Jeralyn.

Grace was one of a kind: an independent and courageous woman who was a role model for her daughters; an accomplished career woman who became the first woman manager in the finance division at York University; a spiritual warrior who was a life-long learner; relentless in her pursuit of knowledge.  She was a force to be reckoned with.  Godspeed.

A service will be held Saturday September 8th, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Lakeland Funeral & Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Ross Memorial Hospital or any charity of your choice.
