From: Emily Saunders

So sorry to hear of Ernst passing, I meet him a couple years ago when I was on vacation visiting my niece. He was a wonderful, nice, kind, and very funny man. we had a few laughs, he would say to me say some Newfie phases for me, so when say them he would laugh so hard. you were such a wonderful person from short time I had with you. spread your wings and fly with the angels until we meet again. And we meet I will have some more Newfie saying for you and we can laugh again. Thinking of all the family at this time, stay strong. Rest in peace my friend. Love Emily Saunders glovertown, Newfoundland.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your brother Ern. Met him in 1988 and he was always kind and full of fun. He got Ian to stand in the closet so when I put my boots in I would be surprised. He taught me how to plant and grow asparagus that we still have. He also gave me 2 maple trees that were 2 feet high that he had grown from seed and they are 25 feet high and shade my west windows from the setting sun so when I look at them remember Ern. We had lots of laughs and hope he is in a happy place now. Am sure all his family will sorely miss him but he will live on in memory
