Bill McLaren

With great sadness we announce the passing of our Bill, who died peacefully at home surrounded by family love, after a brave fought battle with cancer. Much loved partner of Jenny-Lee Pearson. Dear brother of Barbara Germyn (Darwin). Son of the late Edward and Olive McLaren. Father of Rebecca (Dan), Meaghan (Gary), and Joe McLaren. Loved by chosen children Emily (Shiran) and Carly Gatt, and Jenny-Lee’s children Matthew, and Gary (Nicole) Pearson, Sarah Jones, Jamie-Lee (Derek) Immel, and Vanessa (Steve) Junkin. Loving Grampa of Jacob, Owen, Lily-Anna, Aubrey, Charles, Rosemary, Howard, James, Nora and Owen. Beloved Uncle of Tim Germyn and Jennifer Istead.

Bill will be remembered fondly and missed by those in the Dunsford Lions Club, of which he was a Charter Member, others may remember Bill from the days of McLaren Marina, where “Barefoot Bill” would often be found on the dock.

Cremation has taken place.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life.  Held at Dunsford Community Centre (Lower Level), 26 Community Centre Road, Dunsford ON. Friday August 16th from 1- 4 pm. Words of Remembrance will be shared at 2pm.

We are grateful Bill was lovingly cared for by family and lifelong friends, with the excellent help of the Para Med Nurses and PSW’s, especially our #1 Nurse Lisa Rouch, the Palliative Care Community Team, and Nurse Navigator Lauren Bragg and to our wonderful palliative care doctors with special thanks for outstanding care by Dr. Anderson.
