Helen Joan Ross (nee Davy)

Joan passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario in her 86th year. She leaves behind devoted husband of 64 years, John “Mac” Ross. She will be missed by children Susan Woodcock (Stephen), John Ross (Joanne), Don Ross (Michelle) & Ken Ross (Dawn Flotten). Cherished and loved by grandchildren Amber (Jason), Heather, Nicole, Allison, Rebecca, Daniel & Nathan. She was the doting great grandmother of Jasper. She is now at rest with her brother Dennis Davy and parents Jack and Mae Davy.

Joan & Mac resided in the Annapolis Valley, Kentville, Nova Scotia from 1975 to 1981. While living in Nova Scotia, Joan, Mac and their family made several memories that they still reminisce about to this day.

In 1998 Joan & Mac built their home in Lindsay, where they entertained their children, grand children, and great grandchild.

Joan had a creative personality and was an avid quilter. She was a founding member of the Lindsay Creative Quilting Guild, and an active member of the Lindsay and District Rug Hookers. Grandchildren remember being kept warm with handmade wool socks and well-fed with “Grandma’s cookies”.

Family and friends are welcomed to Lakeland Funeral Centre (19 Moose Road, Lindsay) on Friday March 8th, 2024, from 2PM – 4PM for a Celebration of Life to honour Joan.

The Ross family would like to share a special thanks to Ross Memorial Hospital and the Doctors, Nurses and support staff who comforted and cared for Joan in her final days.
