Wilson was truly a man for all ages. A man who gave his all and was really there for everyone. At the hardest of times, a man who followed his heart with an astute judge of character. We feel proud to have known you. Our sincere and deepest sympathy to his family and treasured friends. He will be missed, but the 'Willy' stories and memories will keep him forever in our heart and conversation...

Our sincere condolences go out to the Staples family. It is never easy to lose a loved one, but a man that was so obviously respected and loved by all is doubly difficult.
We did not have the privilege of knowing Wilson that well or for that long, but through his daughter Linda and Grandson Marcus we heard about a man who loved his family and community with a quiet passion.
Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Staples ,He was one of the finest man and business person in Lindsay. We have known Willy for over 50 years ,my father always went to Wilson Tire to have all his farm repairs done, Willy was a gentleman at all times ,he loved helping people, building things and had great morals in life. He would stand up with people for the greater cause for our community, He and Verna were made for each other, but as Willy would say without the love of my life, I would not have a thing. Rest in peace my friend, you deserve it! Pleased to be a your friend and someone you could count on when needed! The Denby Family

Since learning of the passing of Wilson Staples yesterday morning, we have struggled to find the words to express our deep sadness.

By the time we had the pleasure to first get to know Wilson he was already well past the age when many are enjoying retirement. Yet, as if his thriving Tire business and property management didn’t keep him busy enough, this quiet, observant gentleman, with the twinkle in his eye and the dry sense of humour, who was first a customer, saw something in ourselves and our business and he soon became the best landlord and supporter than anyone could ever hope for. His vision, hands on help, friendly advise, hard work and high standards helped us and St. Dave’s Diner to grow and prosper at it’s second larger location.

Always willing to listen, always happy to advise, totally non-judgemental. Quick to spot a need and at the ready to remedy any situation any way he could.

His business acumen and wise ways were only surpassed by his generous heart. We learned so much from him. He was fond of saying “if you want to get things done, sometimes it’s better to ask for forgiveness, than it is to ask for permission”. Wilson always got things done, but he always looked out for the people that he worked with or that worked for him or were his tenants. Many is the time we saw him give folks a “hand up”. His support of our community and various causes have set the bar very high. He knew the value of a dollar, but he understood the value of people and the community more.

While searching for words, many come to mind: customer, landlord, supporter, advisor, mentor….friend….family. Wilson we were proud to have you as all of those and more.

Our hearts go out to Vera, Pasty, Linda, Ken and all of Wilson’s extended family and friends. Thank you for sharing Wilson with all of us, the world is a better place for him having been in it.

What can words say, not enough for such a wonderful man, a man that would give the shirt off his back to a perfect stranger, a man that gave everyone a chance, he has touched our lives so deeply in last 13 years that I have worked for him. He is one of a kind and will never be forgotten, for the ones he left behind it is greatly painful, but we will meet again, until then hold tight your favourite memories and remember to "have a care", Our thoughts and prayers are always with you Staples family and friends....God Bless
