Norman 'Norm' Craig Thompson

Norman Craig Thompson at the age of 82 passed peacefully surrounded by his family at the Ross Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 29th, 2014. Norm is survived by his beloved wife Doreen, son Gary (Cora), daughter Wendy (Roger) and his grandchildren Brandon, Sarah, Dan and Kimberly. For years Norm was a dedicated member of 3 pipe bands, Highland Creek in Scarborough, the Haliburton pipe band and the Lindsay pipe band. Norm was a member of Local 591G for over 65 years. In his younger years Norm was an avid curler at Avonlea Curling Club in Don Mills and even more recently he enjoyed playing pool in Lindsay. Doreen and Norm enjoyed their euchre games with many friends at the local senior clubs. The family will receive friends at Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay on Tuesday, August 5th from 1:00 pm until time of memorial service in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. If so desired, donations would be appreciated to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
