Formerly of Bradford, Ontario. Passed away peacefully surrounded by love with his three favourite girls by his side, wife Carol and daughters Shelley and Tammy at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, Ontario on Thursday, July 11th, 2013. Gord was a long time employee of Canada Post. After retirement he was the proud and successful owner of Fenelon Falls Monuments. Gord had a gentle nature, wondrous spirit and a big heart to all who knew him. “He was the best man we’ve ever known,” quoted by many. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Carol of 47 years. Cherished father of Shelley Munro (Ken) of Beaverton and Tammy Boake (Jeff) of Port Perry. Proud and adored Grandpa of Matthew Munro, Michael Munro, Scott Boake and Adam Boake. Gord will be missed by his faithful companion Eddy. Sisters and brothers Florence Calwell, Earle Campbell, Margaret Norton, Betty Shipley, June Reynolds and Tom Campbell (Ann), predeceased by Jean Corville (deceased), Lorne Campbell (deceased). Lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Thanks to the ICU doctors and nurses at Ross Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends at Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Saturday, July 20th from 12:00 pm until time of a celebration of Gord’s life at 2:00 pm. There will be a Masonic service at 2:00 pm. Bretheren are asked to assemble at 1:45 pm. If desired, in memoriam donations to The Lung Association would be appreciated by the family and can be arranged by Parker Funeral Home, 705-324-1988.
