George Robert Thompson Sr. – Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side at the Peterborough Regional Health Care Centre on May 2, 2013 – in his 87th year. Beloved husband of 67 years to Claire (nee St. Denis), and son of the late William John Thompson and Lily Beatrice Parker. George was a loving brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. George was a Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force and served from 1943-1946. George was a lover of the outdoors, and all nature had to offer. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in George’s name to the Peterborough Regional Health Care Centre or the Ontario Lung Association. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the doctors and nurses at the Peterborough Hospital in A5 who were involved in George’s care for their wonderful support and dedication.
