Smith, Cecilia Louise (nee McPherson)

Passed at home, in her 73rd year surrounded by her family on May 15th, 2008 after an 8 month battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Howard Smith for 38 years. Cecilia leaves her daughter Shelley (nee Smith) husband Jeffrey Whynot of Oshawa, and their two children Connor (age 2 years 9 months) and Ava (10 months). She will be missed by her stepdaughter Shirley Shields (nee Smith) of Mississauga and her spouse Wayne McGuire. Cecilia is survived by her father in-law Harry Heels of Lindsay. Dear daughter of James McPherson (predeceased) and Margaret McPherson (nee Roberts) (predeceased). Sister of Jo-Anne Gordier (nee McPherson) of Orangeville, Samuel James McPherson (predeceased) and Ronald Leonard McPherson (predeceased). Cecilia will be sadly missed by all who knew her and will be fondly remembered by her sister in-law Elaine Smith of Burlington and her many nieces and nephews. We wish to express a special thank you to Cecilia's sister Jo-Anne Gordier for her continued care and support. Thank you to Dr. Petrosoniak and staff, Dr. Chan and staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre in Oshawa, Dawn Sword from Hospice Kawartha Lakes, Ashley Lynch Cecilia's nurse from Paramed, Carol Harding and Karen Black her Personal Support Workers also from Paramed, The Access Centre and everyone else for the support during Cecilia's illness. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 21st from 10:00 am until the time of Memorial Service at 12:00 noon at Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road (corner of McLaughlin and Moose Road), Lindsay. Reception to follow.
