It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Campbell Walker Hamer, born September 23rd, 1917. He was the third of eight children of Carrie Adele and David Edgar Hamer.(predeceased). Campbell passed away peacefully at Extendicare in Lindsay on January 6th, 2012. Campbell is predeceased by his brothers John and Charles and is survived by his sisters Margaret, Mary, Helen and his brothers Bill and Hugh. He was a kind, loving husband to Maude May Dell (deceased), Elisa Irene Verleysen (deceased) and Marjorie Maceachern (deceased). Campbell was the loving and devoted father of Doreen (Larry) Broome, Donald (Val) Hamer, David (Susan) Hamer, Shirley (Robert) Glassford, Karen (Allan) Cameron, Nancy (Robert) Ryder and Susan (Alvin) Hamer-Jugoon. Campbell was a proud and caring grandfather to 15 grandchildren, Jennifer (J.P), Michelle (Jason), and Heather (Mike) Broome, Kimberly (Cam) and Robert (Ashley) Hamer, Carrie (Jason) and Laura Hamer, Nathan and Daniel Glassford, Julie and Andrea Cameron, Emma and Sadie Hamer, Liam and Priya Jugoon as well as 12 great grandchildren. Campbell's gentle and affectionate nature will be sadly missed by his family and also by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff at Extendicare and Dr. G. Loeb for all their wonderful care in Campbell's last years. In memoriam donations to the Alzheimers Society or a charity of you choice would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. Arrangements may be made through the Parker Funeral Home (705) 324-1988 in Lindsay. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerfuneralhome.ca. The Funeral will be held at The Calvary Pentocostal Church, 125 Victoria Ave. N. in Lindsay at 2:00pm on Tuesday January 10th, 2012. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
